Cohousing Community

When you read the word “cohousing” you may think this means a bunch of people sharing a single house together. But this isn’t what cohousing means!

Cohousing is a development model describing a neighborhood or apartment building in which residents all have their own individual homes (with their own kitchens and bathrooms).

Cohousing communities have a strong value of both privacy and social connection.

They often share common facilities, such as laundry machines, parking garages, and a common house where meals can be shared a few times a week. The feeling is of an old-fashioned neighborhood, and for that reason, cohousing is one of the most mainstream types of community living. There are both multi-generational and senior cohousings.
