Community Matchmaking Assistant
Calling all intentional community enthusiasts!
Passionate about intentional communities? Already visited many communities? Want to apply your community know-how towards a professional pursuit?
This is a unique opportunity to become trained as a community matchmaker, while assisting with the ins-and-outs of running a small business.
CommunityFinders helps people find and join intentional communities — including cohousings, ecovillages, agrihoods, housing coops, tiny house villages, and more. We offer a variety of online resources, programs, and events to help people find their community.
In this role you’d be helping with all the activities of the organization, but especially our community matchmaking service. You will work closely with the founder, Cynthia Tina, to shadow client calls and assist with creating client reports.
After a training period, you may begin taking on clients as a matchmaker yourself.
Time commitment:
5-10 hours per week. Independent contractor.
Hourly rate:
$15-$25 depending on experience.
Location:
Remote work (timezone must be compatible with Eastern time).
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Shadowing client calls
- Researching communities
- Creating client reports
- Social media engagement
- Reviewing and generating content
- Responding to emails and other customer service
- Co-hosting online events
- Administrative tasks as needed
Skills and qualities:
- Must love to research. Imaging spending hours diving into researching various communities using online tools.
- Must be a people person. Ability to relate to a wide variety of personalities, political orientations, ages, and nationalities. Exceptional active listening.
- Organized, efficient, and self-motivated. If there’s a problem you can’t solve, knowing where to look to find the information. Detailed note takers are welcome.
- Can work on deadlines but is comfortable with flexible schedules. Time management is a must.
- Passion for intentional communities. Already having visited many communities or with plans to do so (no travel compensation is offered). Knowledgeable of the basic types of communities, such as listed here.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a background in: coaching, consulting, marketing, social media, blogging, and/or a frequent traveler of intentional communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in American English.
