Your Community Resume: Free Worksheet

Ready to contact intentional communities? Make sure to first create your community resume!

Plenty of communities are open to visitors… but it’s important to know how to contact them to ensure a positive response and establish a good connection from the start.

My #1 suggestion is to add a “community resume” attachment to your email to an ecovillage, cohousing, land trust, or any other type of intentional community.

A succinct one-page resume does 3 things:

  1. Helps you see your community living strengths/weakness
  2. Helps a community get to know you without overwhelming them
  3. Motivates you to share it and move forward on your community journey

Advice on how to utilize your community resume

Visiting an established community is the best way to learn what community living is all about. And since no two communities are alike, it’s ideal to visit more than one to understand the nuances, especially if you are considering joining or starting a community yourself.

Planning your tour of communities is exciting, but can also be overwhelming with so many places to choose from… combined with the logistics of travel, arranging your stay, finding lodging, participating in activities, evaluating your visits, and more.

That’s why we have created the Community Finders Circle, an on-going membership program so you can get guidance throughout the journey of visiting communities. Check it out and join our group!
